This 32,474 acre watershed encompassed both the East and West branches of the Aspetuck River as well as Lake Waramaug, and transcends a number of municipal and organizational boundaries. The partnership aims to promote the conservation significance of this exceptional resource, underscore is stewardship requirements and proactively protect significant properties with willing landowners across the watershed. This is one of several landscape-scale initiatives underway across Northwest Connecticut with Greenprint involvement.

Participants in the initial meetings of the Aspetuck partnership include the Connecticut Farmland Trust; the Housatonic Valley Association; Kent Land Trust; Lake Waramaug Task Force; New Milford Farmland Preservation Committee; Steep Rock Association; Warren Land Trust and Weantinoge Heritage Land Trust.  The Aspetuck Watershed encompasses parts of the Towns of Warren, Washington, New Milford and Kent, Connecticut.
